Cover Art Contest

Please submit your Cover Art Contest entries to Cristine at the Wednesday practice. Voting will be held by the Sundance Executive Commitee at Thursday's meeting.

Banquet 7/26/09

Our banquet is scheduled for July 26, 2009 from 6:15pm-8:15pm at Haynes Pool in Rio Rancho. We are still waiting for a few RSVP's, so that we may plan accordingly. Please email rioranchodesertsharks@gmail.com to RSVP.

District Swim Meet

We are hosting the district swim meet against YMCA, Los Lunas and TCA. We will be needing volunteers for this meet, so please email rioranchodesertsharks@gmail.com if you will be able to volunteer.

Parent Meeting

We will be having a short parent meeting after the meet this Saturday (7/18/09) to discuss the team for next year.

Truth or Consequences Meet 7/18/09

Warm-ups for this meet begin at 7:30am, so please make sure children are at the pool at 7:15am (try not to sleep in too late). Many of our normal volunteers are out of town, so we will need volunteers for this meet. We need 6 timers, 2 "stick" people, 2 ribbon table people and 2 concession stand people. Please email rioranchodesertsharks@gmail.com if you will be able to volunteer.

4th of July

We hope that everyone has a safe and wonderful 4th of July weekend! We will see everyone on Monday, July 6th for practice!

Team Suits

Team Suits are in! If you would like to purchase a team suit, you will need to go to Streamline Swimming. Girls suits are $50 and Boys jammers are $30.

Meet Schedule & Contact List

We have had requests for a resend of the meet schedule and the updated contact list. This was sent out via attachments in an email this evening. The contact list will NOT be posted on this blog, but the meet schedule in on the Google Calendar at the bottom of the blog.

7/1/09 Practice & Riverpoint Meet

We do have a starts & turns practice tomorrow from 7:00am to 8:30am before our meet at Riverpoint tomorrow. Warm-ups begin at 2pm tomorrow, please arrive at 1:45pm. Below is a map to Riverpoint.

8 & Under Meet

A great big thanks to all of the volunteers who helped out at the 8 & Under Meet! We couldn't have done it without you!

TCA MEET CANCELED

The TCA meet for today (6-24-09) has been canceled. They are having problems with the circulation in their pool. We will see you all at practice tomorrow morning.

Volunteers for the 8 & Under Meet

Please email rioranchodesertsharks@gmail.com if you are planning on volunteering at the 8 & Under meet. We would like to get volunteers that DO NOT have children participating in the 8 & Under meet so that the parents of the 8 & Unders can relax and watch their children compete. We need volunteers for the concession stand and the awards (our team is responsible for handing out the awards this year.)

6/24/09- Practice & TCA Meet

We will have practice on Wednesday morning before the TCA meet. It will be a practice just for starts and turns, so the kids don't get worn out.

Maps were handed out for the TCA meet at practice today, they will be available at Tuesday & Wednesday practice. The map is also available here.

Team Suits

Team Suits are NOT in. We received incorrect information, Streamline Swimming has not received our team suits. Please DO NOT drive down to Streamline Swimming to purchase a team suit, as they have yet to arrive.

TCA

We have a meet at TCA on Wednesday, June 24, warm-ups begin at 1:00pm. Below is a map to TCA. Printed maps will also be available at practice.

6/26/09 Practice

This practice is cancelled for all swimmers EXCEPT the 8 and unders. This is to give our 8 and Unders extra practice for their big meet on Saturday.

Anklets

Our team has anklets for sale. You may purchase the anklets for $2. $1 goes to the team and the other is for anklet supplies. These are really cute, and a great way to show team spirit!

8 & Under Meet

We are hosting the 8 & Under Meet on Saturday, June 27, 2009. Our team will warm up at 7:00am and the meet will begin at 8:00am.

For this meet we will be running our concession stand, this is a huge fundraiser for our team, but we need volunteers who do NOT have children competing in the meet.

We are also responsible for the awards and again, we are looking for volunteers (older swimmers especially) to take on this responsibility. Please let Cristine or Jane know if you will volunteer for this meet.

Anyone attending the 8 & Under meet will need to bring a canned food donation for a local food drive charity, so please help Sundance do it's part for the community.

Tomorrow's Practice

Practice will resume at Rainbow Pool tomorrow (6/15/09) from 7:00am to 8:30am.

Registration Forms & Waiver Forms

Please make sure that your child's registration form and waiver have been turned into Cristine or Jane by practice on Tuesday (6/16/09), they must be turned in to the Sundance Aquatic Association that evening.

We will be holding our End-of-Season Banquet on July 26, 2009. More details to follow!

New Mexico Games

The date of New Mexico Games has been changed to Sunday, July 5, 2009. If you plan to attend this event, please make sure that your registration forms & payments are turned into Cristine by practice on Wednesday, June 24, 2009.

Team Pictures

Please remember that the team pictures will take place at practice on Wednesday, June 17, 7:00am at Rainbow Pool. An email was sent out with the order form and price list.

Art Cover Contest

Every year Sundance Aquatic Association holds a "Cover Contest" The kids draw covers for the district and championship meet programs. Sundance will select 5 from all the entries, 4 for each one of the district meets, and 1 for the Championship meet. This is open to all of the kids and the entries must be black and white on 8 1/2" x 11" paper. The entries are due to the Team Moms by July 1, 2009. Please have your child participate!

Forms

The Sundance Registration Form and the Sundance Waiver Form have been posted on the right side of this blog under Forms. Please print, fill out and bring these forms to Cristine or Jane at practice before Friday.

Revised Practice Schedule

Due to the water temperature issues, we will be practicing at the Rio Rancho Aquatic Center for the next 2 weeks, from June 2-June 12 from 6:30am to 7:45am. Unfortunately, we are not able to practice at the Rio Rancho Aquatic Center on Monday, June 1st due to maintainence on the Aquatic Center. Monday's practice will be held at Rainbow Pool from 7:00am-8:30am. Below is a map from Rainbow Pool to the Rio Rancho Aquatic Center.
